Well, all have arrived, safe and sound in Cadiz.
Yesterday, after a quick bus ride from the Jerez airport, all of the students met their new host mothers and headed to their new Spanish home for a meal and a chance to shower and relax a bit. We then all visited El Insitituto de San Fernando, where the students will be taking their classes (as of Monday). After orientation, we visited the locutorio, where the students were able to call home.
Today, after a well-deserved rest, we met up at la catedral for a walk around Cadiz, focusing on getting to know some of the famed plazas of Cadiz. Finally, after all our time walking in the hot Cadiz sun, we paid our first visit a Cadiz beach, visiting la playa de Santa Maria.
Tonight, we will head out to our first group meal, and tomorrow we take our first voyage outside of town, to the village of Conil. Keep coming back for updates and more photos, and the meantime, be well.
